20150312_133926ACPA’s program of college preparation begins with a meeting prior to attendance. Ideally, this meeting takes place the summer prior to 9th grade. During this 30 – 60 minute meeting with the Principal, all students and families begin to develop a plan which, implemented successfully, will lead to college acceptance.

Additionally, during annual Summer Meetings, the college plan is revisited and grades, test scores, extra-curricular activities, etc are reviewed to make a plan for the upcoming school year.

During the 11th and 12th grade year, students meet at least bi-weekly with Mrs. Mendoza to continue developing a plan of action for college acceptance. This includes becoming familiar with websites and resources to find information, apply for scholarships and working to develop a successful college entrance application.

Finally, Mrs. Mendoza offers a series of Parent Nights throughout the year which introduce ACPA families to the various types of tests that must be taken, the benefits of the Advanced Placement program, how Financial Aid works and other topics of that nature.
